Big Bang Events and Equestrianism

Big Bang Events is actively involved in the equestrian world and sponsors various meetings and individuals within the sport. This involvement stems from Managing Director Alison Welsh, herself a keen horsewoman and passionate supporter of the equestrian fraternity.

Big Bang sponsor Bryan Elliott and his horse BA Star (Baz) - a ten year old 17.1 hand grey gelding, which was considered a veterinary 'write-off' as a foal. Bryan has worked as an army riding instructor in the King's Troop for the past 18 years, and is one of the highest ranked military riders - representing the army in eventing and showjumping, both home and abroad. Thanks to the continued support of Big Bang, the combination have formed a strong bond and now compete in British eventing up to intermediate level. They have represented Great Britain on behalf of an army team for the past two years.

Big Bang also sponsored the Grand Prix at the Aldershot Show, Tweseldown Racecourse in May 2007. The arrangement ensured that Big Bang Events received exposure in a key marketplace for the business, as well as providing the event organisers with a significant income stream from a committed and relevant organisation. As many of the Big Bang team are also keen riders, the event also provided a perfect opportunity for the company to mix business and pleasure.

Contributing to a sport which inspires Alison Welsh is an essential element of the company's philosophy, and reflects its socially responsible attitude. In her own words, Alison commented: "We all work very hard at Big Bang Events and are striving to build a company with solid principles and high ethical standards. Part of our own brand development is my desire to add value to not just clients, but also individuals or organisations about which I feel passionate.

An obvious place to start is within equestrianism, as I and members of my team take so much pleasure from our love of horses. It really is rewarding to put something back into the sport at grassroots level."
